SEMESTER 4

This module intends to inform the students on the basic building construction and materials used in the construction of small to medium scale buildings.  It focuses on developing an understanding of the principle of the building elements which include the substructure and superstructure and common construction materials such as concrete, masonry, timber, metal, and glass.

This course introduces us students to the world of Computer Generated 3-Dimensional drawings. The course is carried out with  with e lectures and tutorial sessions for us students in order to experiment with the software. we are also encouraged to carry out self-research in regards to the other capabilities and more complicated features of 3DS Max and Revit Architecture. 

Heritage Conservation : Theories, Principles and Practices

“Structures of architectural heritage, by their very nature and history (material and assembly), present a
number of challenges in diagnosis and restoration that limit the application of modern legal codes and
building standards. Recommendations are desirable and necessary to both ensure rational methods of
analysis and repair methods appropriate to the cultural context.”

Sustainable Design, Policies and Regulations

This module introduces students to environmental issues and provides some in-depth understanding of the complexities and influences that built environment causes to the natural environment. The module intent s to instill environmental literacy and understandings of policies related to sustainable design and practices.
